The next day, the manager realized that the men had been overcharged
She gave the bellhop $5 to return to the three men
On the way to their room the bellhop decided to keep $2 for himself
and give each of the three men one dollar
The three men had now paid $9 each, or a total of $27
This plus the $2 the bellhop kept makes a total of $29
What happened to the other dollar?

I'm not sure!

but, the three men paid the manager 30 $and then the manger took 5 dollars from the 30 dollars, therefore,the manager had 25 dollars left!

then the bellhop decided to take 2 $ for himselfand paid each man only one dollar.

the manager now has 25 dollars+2 dollars +3 dollars=30 dollars

the 27 dollars is actually the 25 dollars which remained with the manager plus the 2 dollars that were taken by th bellhop,and which the three men thought that they were part of their charges.

so if we added the 3 returned dollars to the 27 dollars it will give us 30 dollars!!!


so actually there is no missing dollar!!!

that's not right, the three men paid 27 dollars and thats 25 to the manager and two to the bellhop!!! so what u have mentioned in the riddle is actually wrong!!

because they only paid 27 dollars and not 29 dollars

and if we added the three returned dollars to the 27 dollars it will give us 30 and not 29!!!
