سباق الفورميلا فورد 1600 هو أقل فئة في سباق السيارات ذات المقعد الواحد (فورميلا) وكان بداية الإحتراف لمعظم أبطال الفورمولا 1, مثل مايكل شوماخر, روبنز بارشيليو, جينسون بولتون, مايك سالو و كيمي رايكونين.

محرك السيارة فورد 1.6 لتر 130 حصان, ناقل الحركة 4 سرعات على شكل H مع كلتش
وزن السياره بدون سائق 490 كلج واقل وزن مسموح مع السائق والوقود 575 كلج
تسارع السياره من صفر الى 100كلم خلال 4.5 ثانيه والسرعة القصوى 220 كلم

البطولة المقامة في البحرين, هي بطولة ثندر اريبيا 2005, وهي أول بطولة عربية لسباق سيارات الفورميلا.
