In late 2002, BMW will replace the Z3 with the all new Z4 model.
The Z4 is slightly larger than the current Z3, with a similar choice of engines.
This means the familiar 2.5 and 3.0 engines are back.
The suspension is also new , similar to the current 3 series.

This striking interior is also roomier, and quieter. But less headroom (?).The wood trim is replaced by aluminum

For more good news, the new Z4 will be priced about the same as the old Z3. At a little over $30 000, it still is the most affordable BMW convertible. Not that much more than a more common Chrysler Sebring, and much less than a 3 Series.
